Hello 2007!

Aiyoh where did 2006 run off to? Just like that and another year has just zipped by.

Guess everybody was watching the countdown on channel 5. If you missed it, i guess one word sums it up. Blargh. Sure vivo city aint no Times Square, but you know you've got a problem when the audience needs to be egged on by every single MC and by practically every single performer on stage to scream. As future doctors, we should seriously do our part to drum up business for the medical community and help build national spirit.

What do I mean? Well simply next year instead of organising Mediweek or even Medix we should form "Cheering teams" and go down to events such as "Countdown 2007" to fan the flames of National pride and get our fellow Singaporeans, expats and PRC scholars to cheer their hearts and souls out. At the same time, booths selling lozenges at $5 a sweet and Maps with directions to the nearest GP clinics can be provided at a nominal sum of $1 each. Proceeds of course would go to charity and the further development of Medicine in singapore, namely by being shunted into the medical student welfare funds. What better place money than squarely in the hands of the future of medicine in Singapore (aka us)?

Way i see it, everybody is happy. Audience has a fun time, MCees dont get a "dead" audience and the performers on stage actually get to feel appreciated. Not to mention the fact that the whole world can see we full of Spirit. So maybe next year, we can raise enough funds from selling strepsils and lozenges and do something about the name of a particular medical school. Woot! Unfortunately that means raising at least $25 million dollars. Aka 5 million strepsils. But no worries, with the increasing amounts of foreign talent and foreign doctors poring in, I am confident we can reach the 5 million strepsil target. Aiyah, foreign talent get paid alot of $$$ lah, they surely buy more than 1 strepsil. Dont forget the inherent Mr. Kiasu that lives in most of us. Surely can sell more than 1 strepsil per person. Even better, we could push a buy 5 get 1 strepsil free promotion.

So common people, lets cheer our hearts out!

*First bit of utter crap to be spouted. Hi 2007!*
*This was a shameless ad for Strepsils.*
